Dr David Parry, CEO, SEHTA

David Parry was appointed Chief Executive of SEHTA on February 1st 2006. Immediately prior to this he ran his own life sciences consultancy company and was a SEEDA enterprise hub director for 3 years when he actively helped 20 small technology-based businesses to grow. David’s earlier background was in research and development. He has held positions of Head of Entomology and Plant Pathology at East Malling Research Station and Reader in Plant Pathology at Harper Adams University College. David has a track record in attracting funding from commercial, government and EU sources. His research work is widely published and he has written 2 books. David is a graduate of Imperial College and obtained his PhD from Imperial College at Wye.


Dr Richard Curry, E-Health Development Director, SEHTA

Dr. Richard Curry is an independent consultant specialising in the application of advanced technologies to healthcare. He is currently Senior Scientific Advisor to the Department of Health’s Invention for Innovation programme and to the Department of Health’s Policy Research Programme research initiative on the role of technology in supporting chronic disease management, self care and healthy living. In his other consultancy activities he has worked with a number of NHS Trusts, District Councils and Charities helping them to implement technology adoption programmes. He is also a member of the Healthcare Management Group at Tanaka Business School, Imperial College London with an interest in the adoption of technology. Prior to working as a consultant he held senior management positions in the scientific instrument sector for over 20 years most recently with a videoconferencing company where he designed and installed the minimally invasive therapy training system based at the Royal College of Surgeons in London. He holds a PhD in physics from the University of Durham.

Katy Lethbridge, E-Health Development Manager, SEHTA

Katy joined SEHTA in November 2008 as Project Development Manager, to manage current projects and help develop new ones. SEHTA had several large projects developing in the area of telecare and e-Health and created two new roles to take these forward, including that of E-Health Development Manager. Katy was keen to work in this fast-developing and important area of health technologies, and took on the new role in March 2009. Katy started working life as an analytical chemist in the QA laboratories of Upjohn Pharmaceuticals. Since then she has worked in various sales and marketing roles including, immediately prior to joining SEHTA, as a business development professional for M-Scan Ltd, a contract analytical laboratory serving the bio/pharmaceutical industry.

Joanne Jenkins - Finance and Project Manager

Joanne Jenkins joined SEHTA in February 2010 to provide financial and project management expertise to the ICE-T (International Centre of Excellence in Telecare) project. Joanne’s most recent roles as Portfolio Director for the Surrey Enterprise Hub, and Community of Innovation Manager for the W Surrey & NE Hants Innovation & Growth team, have focused on helping technology and knowledge-based companies commercialize ground-breaking ideas through the provision of one-to-one intensive business support; investment readiness preparation; access to funding and grants; collaboration opportunities with sector consortia, universities, and other business support organizations; peer-to-peer networking; supply chain and open innovation opportunities.  Joanne’s background in the IT sector has involved managing several programmes and projects and designed to improve the effectiveness of organizations and to facilitate their bringing new products to market.

Kathy Vuillaume - International Project Manager

Kathy joined SEHTA in January 2010 as international Project Manager, to lead on the international portfolio linked to ICE-T.  

Kathy comes with an extensive experience in international project management. She is a chartered chemical engineer and started her career managing international R&D projects in the biotech industry in France. She moved to England in 1998 to do her MBA. She then worked for British local Authorities, business support agencies and more recently the South East England regional development agency (SEEDA) heading up a portfolio of European programmes on innovation, climate change & sustainable development across regions & countries; these partnerships contributing to the future of regional policies. Kathy is fluent in French, English and speaks also some German & Spanish.

ICE-T will provide support and seed funding to projects developing innovative telecare products and services and facilitate the formation of project consortia.
